Reboot your senses with a cup of tea and buckle up for a half-day tour of the city. Guests will love their drive to Monal Restaurant with the forest overlooking the city like a school of emeralds. Sitting on Margalla Hills at 1173 meters above sea level, Monal Restaurant is full of romanticism and heritage. Enjoy the cool breeze and sunset over the hills. At Monal Restaurant, you can enjoy the indigenous flavors from Arabia, Persia as well as Central Asia. Marvel at the sunset while devouring piping hot Cheese Nans a Monal special that gets raving reviews from foodies. The capital has many other tourist attractions to offer such as Pakistan Monument a symbol of the unity of Pakistan, Faisal Mosque, and the views at Daaman-e-Koh Enroute Margalla. We will take you through these sites in a fast-moving format. The day winds up with a peaceful drive back to Serena Hotel. The guests will take a flight to Skardu from Islamabad Airport. This flight is about 40 minutes long and is an experience to write home about. Jet over the Roof of the World and witness the magnificence of close to 8,000m high peaks like K2 and Nanga Parbat. Once you have reached the Skardu Airport you will be transferred to the Shangrila Resort Hotel. The hotel (often referred to as Heaven on Earth ) is nestled between mountains and encircles the lower Kachura Lake. The ideal time to visit Shangrila is from March to November because the apple orchards and flower-filled gardens around it are in full bloom. You will be staying in your own 2 room chalet which opens up to the view of the lake and orchards and the glacier peaks in the distance. Reboot your senses with a cup of tea while gazing at the scenic views of the valley. After a therapeutic pause at the resort, the tour manager will guide the guests around Skardu City. Take this tour as an opportunity to connect with nature and disconnect from life s daily grind. Time to take deep breaths and align your chakras! Buckle up for a guided walk around the Balti modern culture. History buffs will love our guided tours led by well-versed guides to 8th-century Kharpocho Fort meaning The King of Forts. The Fort is approximately an hour away by car from your hotel. It is a symbol of crafty engineering techniques standing at a grand height of 40m above the city level. Visit the Nansoq Organic Village located behind the Fort. It features open gardens and wandering livestock, and specializes in shearing sheep, embroidery and weaving cultivated by heritage and traditional designs. It will take around a 40 mins hike to reach this village for an organic lunch with the locals. The guests will then be taken to the Night Market of Skardu where they can unleash their love for retail therapy and buy a plethora of culturally rich ornaments, embroidery at affordable prices. The day will end with a meal at Lakeview Restaurant back at the hotel. Sit with your tour friends in the serenity of the valley and enjoy being in the moment. An early morning 20 mins hike to catch a view of the resort from a hilltop, followed by a hearty breakfast. From Shangrila Resort, the guests will depart for Deosai National Park - located at the converging point of two biogeographic provinces in the Himalayan and Karakoram-Pamir highlands. The park that is approximately 1 hour away from your hotel has become one of the major tourist attractions over the years. Deosai National Park offers guests a chance to observe the most exotic animals in their natural habitat. Depending on the season you visit in, you may spot Tibetan wolf, Tibetan red fox, Himalayan ibex, and Golden marmots here along with countless types of flora and fauna. Don t forget to take pictures on your drive around the lush meadows, glistening with morning dew. Rest at leisure and get ready for bedtime under the stars. We will set you a premium campsite at the Sheosar lake, replete with necessities and amenities to give the guests a comfortable experience next to the campfire. The warm, earthy tones of the food prepared in a field kitchen will fill your senses with pure ecstasy. Soak in the raw energy of the campsite with a hearty meal cooked with an assortment of spices that will pop in your mouth.
It s a day to celebrate your love of nature. After breakfast, the campers will trek early in the morning to catch wildlife, flora, and fauna that blend unobtrusively with the region. Trekking will continue to the spot where brown bears reside in the valley. Hold on to your glasses and mark the rocky territory of the valley with an adrenaline-packed jeep safari. Try crossing the dangerous world-famous Deosai hanging bridge, suspended from cable and rope. After an eventful day, you will return towards the campsite where you d enjoy a leisurely BBQ dinner while swooning to local music from the area.
After morning tea and freshly prepared breakfast, the guests will leave for a guided short trek to the rivers of the valley followed by a peaceful drive to Shigar to visit the Amburiq Mosque. One of the oldest buildings in the region, the mosque now has a small museum to educate guests about the history of the area. Be greeted at a premium local homestay, don Balti attire, relish the taste of delectable local cuisines, and experience traditional cooking methods here. Engage with locals of the valley and even learn a few words in the region s local language. After an all-encompassing culturally diverse experience, the guests will check-in at Serena Shigar Fort. The royal suites - originally the Raja s royal summer quarters come with one king bed, a working desk, one exquisite bathroom and a powder room all decorated in period antiques. Guests also get a chance to enjoy a spectacular view of the Shigar stream from the royal suites hanging wooden latticework balcony. Local Balti feast will be served at Fong Khar Restaurant. If you visit in the warmer months, you get to dine in the alfresco garden beneath the grapevine with beautiful views of the Shigar stream and surrounding village.
Early morning breakfast will be followed by an approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes drive to Gulshan-e-Kabir. A sea of lush and green fields and meadows wait to serenade your nerves back to nirvana here. This is going to be an eventful day so make sure you have enough battery and memory on your phone. Experience the nomadic lifestyle of this valley, learn how cattle s farming is done here and maybe milk cow or two yourself! The guests will get a chance to experience the glorious sunset at Khaplu Fort while munching on snacks. As hard as it will be to peel your eyes away from this vista, guests will have to call it a day and leave for Serena Khaplu Fort to freshen up in their royal suites for dinner. The day will wrap up with traditional Pakistani BBQ dinner, local music, and poetries from the region at Khatamband Loggia a theme restaurant at Serena Khaplu with a view of the Karakoram mountains.
After the morning breakfast, the guest will be transported to Skardu Airport where they will catch their flight back to the capital and also one of the cultural centers of Pakistan Islamabad.
