You will be picked up from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi. A quick meet and greet will be followed by our guests checking-in at the Movenpick Hotel. Your tour guides will take you around the city, narrating the history and importance of the bazaars, eateries, and monuments in Karachi. Visit the famous Saddar Bazaar a bazaar embraced by Gothic and Renaissance style buildings. Saddar along with Empress Market makes up the commercial center of Karachi. The bazaar is a one-stop solution for everything from toys to food to electronics. Indulge in light snacking at roadside food kiosks in this area, some of which have been in business for generations. Sip on a glass of chilled, fresh-pressed gannay ka rass (sugarcane juice) for a quick hit of energy while you marvel at the 140 feet high, Indo-Gothic style Clock Tower located at the entrance of Empress Market. This market is located 5 minutes away (on foot) from Saddar and is usually visited by locals for 100% pure and fresh herbs, spices, and cold-pressed oils. You will also visit Bohri Bazaar and Saint Patrick s Church a church located approximately 4 minutes away (by car) from Empress Market. The church is considered the center of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi. We will drive for approximately 5 minutes from here to visit Jinnah Mausoleum and its museum. This white marble structure of the mausoleum boasts a mix of Islamic architecture and modernist designs. The museum under the mausoleum s wing is home to coins, clothing, and furniture used by the father of the nation, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Our guests would also like to visit the Tooba Mosque where they can click pictures of the largest single-dome mosque in the world boasting a diameter of 212 feet. It s time for a culinary treat! We have arranged a food-tasting tour for you in the diplomatic area of Clifton. Your tour guides will take you to local food street Boating Basin as well as to high-end restaurants such as Caf Flo, Okra, and Khanji so that you can swoon to the culinary diversity in this city. You may like to visit the Clifton Beach and have a cup of kahwa tea with a view of the Arabian Sea. Listen to the calming sound of the waves crashing and enjoy the cool breeze as you sip in your milky tea. Dinner will be served at Movenpick s on-site restaurant called The Pakistani. Enjoy fresh bread baked from the tandoor oven and a spread of fine dining local delicacies over soft, romantic music.
After breakfast, you will leave early morning for Thatta with stopovers at the early Islamic Chaukhandi tombs and at Haleji Lake. The lake is a freshwater body in Thatta District surrounded by lagoons and is known for being a breeding ground for herons and egrets. The total journey time from the hotel to this lake is approximately 2 hours which gives you time to get up close and personal with the diversity of the city. From Haleji Lake we will drive to Makli Necropolis - one of the largest ancient sites heavily dotted with tombs belonging to royalty, scholars, poets, and heroes. Makli is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its key contribution to the narrative of Sindhi civilization and spirituality. Next you will head to Shah Jahan Mosque to explore the structure of the mosque built in the Mughal era on the Islamic architectural template. Shah Jahan Mosque is known to have the most elaborate blue tile mosaic work in South Asia. We drive for approximately 1 hour to reach Keenjhar Lake where we unwind with a boat ride. You may find winter migratory birds like geese, flamingos, and herons here, a sight that has earned it the title of Ramsar site and a wildlife sanctuary . Ask your tour guide to narrate the famous romantic folklore of Noori Jam Tamachi as you visit her gravesite set in the middle of the deep lake. After the boating break, we will continue our journey for approximately 80km to reach Hyderabad where you check-in at a Guest House. Hyderabad is Sindh s second largest city and is a haven for street food. And we have reserved the evening to explore its marketplace food culture. We will head to the old town Resham gali bazaar. Walk through the flowing street display of ornamental ladies bangles, jewelries and try the streetside potato fritters, crispy chicken, and the Tandoori chai. We then take you to three of the best joints in the city one for its fervor of Hyderabadi biryani and the other for its fried and grilled Salmon and Rohu fish covered in secret spices, and the third for its green and brown Karahi. For dessert sit back and enjoy the creamy cold Falooda delicacy.
After breakfast, you will depart for Sukkur in a 9 hour journey that will see stopovers at Bhit Shah, Matiari and Hala. Sukkur is the 3rd largest city of Sindh and a cultural crossroad into the neighboring Punjab province and the Indian state of Rajasthan. In the town of Bhit Shah, we explore the shrine to the most revered Sindhi Sufi poet, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. Take pictures of the exquisite blue tile, marble, and glasswork on this shrine and witness one of Bhittai s followers playing the dhol and strings in a state of dhamaal (trance). Experience the purity and rawness of a rural region as we take you for a tasting of fresh food supplies and dairy products in traditional farming. Try local snacks at Matiari and enjoy hot tea from the roadside stalls. Hala is a small city in Hyderabad famous for its Kaashi glazed pottery, Ajrak and block print, and Jandi woodwork. We explore the Ajrak factories here and delve into the history of typical Sindhi designs. Don t forget to pick a shawl for yourself or a loved one with Sindhi patterns or a cap with Sindhi mirror work. After a 9-hour journey we reach Sukkur and pass by the city s landmark Lansdowne Bridge before checking in at Hotel One Sukkur. After breakfast, you will visit Arore the ancient capital of Sindh the third largest city of Sindh located on the east bank of River Indus. Exercise your trek muscle here as we rock climb to Baba Khushi Ram Mandir believed to be the oldest Hindu place of worship in Rohri. Situated close to this site is the first. There are not many tourists in this region and you can expect a lot of friendly faces willing to show you their fare. Watch a snake charmer in his act and learn a trick or two. Next, we visit Dargah Sachal Sarmast, the shrine of Sufi Poet Sachal Sarmast. The building constructed according to Islamic architectural preferences is a work of art in itself with the frontage decorated with glass, colored tile work in mosaic settings. Listen to the faqeers (devotees) praise God, read poetry, and spin like whirling dervishes while in a state of trance. You will take a trip to the past by visiting Kot Diji a relic from the famous Indus Civilization as well as exploring the Faiz Mahal a masterpiece palatial estate from the Talpur Dynasty. We arrive at Sheesh Mahal before sunset to explore the majestic palace before heading back to the hotel. Located approximately 31 minutes away (by car) from Faiz Mahal, Sheesh Mahal is a lavish white marble building with mirror-work and intricate carvings. It was built during the golden era of Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981. After a full-day excursion we return to the hotel for traditional dinner. Enjoy local cuisine in an on-site restaurant while local musicians serenade your senses with poetry and music.
After breakfast, you will leave for your morning drive to Ghotki where we enjoy safari and wildlife watching. Ghotki is a district famous for its agricultural and commercial activities. Guests with a sweet tooth will enjoy tasting the juicy mangoes and dates of this region as they explore the region. We continue our journey towards Kashmore from Ghotki, with a stopover at 3-province borders and Guddu Barrage. The Guddu Barrage Dam controls water flow in the River Indus so that the farmers of the area can use the water for irrigation. Get acquainted with the semi-rural lifestyle around the dam and ask locals to share fun facts about the region with you. You will arrive in Larkana and check-in at Sambara Inn, Larkana. Take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool or hang out in the garden before you head to the onsite restaurant for dinner. After breakfast, you will depart early morning for a half-day excursion to the ancient ruins of Mohen Jo Daro. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to 2500 B.C.E. Despite its ancient status, tourists from all over come to see the well-planned street grids, the intelligent drainage system, and artifacts such as lapis, ivory, brick ruins and many more. Explore the site called the Great Bath with walls of baked brick which, from its structure, looks like a place of worship and other ruins in the area. After this trip back to the past we continue our journey towards Ranikot. The total travel time for this journey is approximately 3 hours 30 minutes which gives you enough time to soak in the antiquated mystery of the area. Ranikot Fort is a massive baked brick structure dating back to the Talpur Dynasty. The fort is one of the largest in the world with a circumference of approximately 32 kilometers! Trek the rocky beast or take a timed dash along fort wall. Explore at your own pace and take pictures of this time-frozen landscape with the orange hue sunset. After the sightseeing venture, we move deeper into the park towards Karchat where you will be staying at premium campsites in the national park. A delicious BBQ dinner will be served next to a bonfire. Enjoy your feast in the rustic setting and then indulge in some stargazing before you call it a day.
We rise early to set out for our hiking. We will be reaching a vantage point on a mountain cliff where down below the gorge you can watch flocks of Ibex and Urials grazing. Take pictures of the vastly spread last time before setting out to the camp. After a wholesome breakfast at the campsite we will leave for Karachi. Check-in at Movenpick Hotel, Karachi, and rest at leisure. We have procured exclusive spa passes for you so you unwind and relax after a long journey.
